I have found that hair clips and pony tail holders - the kind with the marble balls that you flip around each other - are great for holding warps of all sorts. The lobster clips come in all sizes and I went to the store and bought plenty in all sizes down to teeny tiny for babies. I use them to hold counts on warps, to hold the cross on warps, all sorts of stuff. If I need to, i will wrap a small strip of that lacy rubber shelf liner around the yarn to add some bulk to it, so the clip will hold tighter. But if a clip can hold hair, it can hold yarn. The little ball pony tail holders are great for fastening things, like my shuttle to the frame of my rigid heddle loom so it does not drop when I pick it up to move it. Once you get a bunch of these things, their uses just keep popping up. Also, I shortened a set of venetian blinds and had quite a few leftover slats. They make great spare lease sticks, spacers, and just come in handy for all sorts of things. Love this space. I learn so much.
