Double harness weaving certainly includes drawlooms, but is not limited to them.  Weavers have done wonderful work with weaving sword and half-heddle sticks.

If you have a drawloom what type do you have (shaft draw, single unit, Myrehed, building your own, etc.) and why did you choose that particular one?

Are you weaving on it now, and if so, what are you working on?

If you do not have a drawloom, but do double harness weaving, please share what you do and how!

If you are considering double harness weaving, have you researched and come to any conclusions as to which loom would work for the kind of weaving you want to do?

Hi Jan,

I am perhaps bringing up a different subject, but VAV magazine will be out at the end of this month and this issue is on double harness weaving.  There is an article written by Lillemor Johansson as an introduction to drawloom weaving, using the half heddle sticks.  There is an article about Karen Myrehed.  There is even a blanket project with cross stitch based on one of Karin's damask patterns.  And I have heard that there is also an article about Sheila O'Hara.  I introduced Tina to Sheila at Convergence as I knew that this issue would be coming out.  I have ordered extra copies, so if anyone does not want to subscribe, I will have extra copies.

Yes, I remember posting that on a couple lists, and I'm looking forward to the arrival of that issue.   For VAV readers, on the last page of each issue, you'll find a note about what will be featured in the next issue.  Nice to know, particularly double harness/drawloom weaving.
