I've always done my rayon chenille scarves in plain weave at 16epi, sett at 16-18. This is 1300 to 1450 ypp chenille. 

I've been doing some Men's scarves and would like to try a herringbone twill. Do I need to increase my epi and sett?

I have woven some twill with 1450 ypp chenille. I used 20 epi and made sure that the longest float was 3 threads. You could use 22 if you like.
