HI-- I weave on a 110 cm Glimåkra CB loom, and have become addicted to the texsolv and the idiocyncrasies of CB looms. I have small folding Jack floor loom (LeClerc Minerva)  I could take to workshops, but it would be nice to have a loom with texsolv.  Are there any CB/texsolv table looms.  I know of Glimåkra's Victoria but are there others?  I don't know much about table looms at all.  thanks... marie

The Victoria ia a rising shed table loom - the Julia CB loom is a bit large to take to workshops.

CB on table looms is best approximated by some small table looms that have a tipping shed lever - like a larger version of the Brio kids looms - for 2 shafts. I have never seen an arrangement like that for more than two.

It is difficult to have that countershed on a table loom as when the shafts lower, they would bump the table on occasion.

Toika makes a small CM loom called the Laila - 4 shafts - I saw some of these in a weaving studio in Luxemburg recently - don't know if anyone imports that model here. That one is folding and about 27" wide.

There were also small folding CB floor looms that clamped to a table or windowsill - I believe they were made by an Inge Askling and sometimes they show up on the used loomslist. Also Lillstina made some small CB looms that wander around now and then. I'd scour the Housecleaning Pages used looms ads and maybe give out a search ad there and see what you find.

Aha. that makes sense. As I said I know nothing about table looms!

I remember ages ago using a loom, maybe about 2' wide that I took home on the subway in Stockholm, and that clamped to the windowsill, I had it for a class. Wonder if it was an Askling loom.  It was great, sturdy because of the windowsill attachment but pretty portable.

But maybe I'll just stick with the MInerva for worskhops, it's a 22" folding loom. But so much metal!  CLANK!
