I have a dilemma.  The matte chip for 5RP 5/12 in my student book does not match the 5RP glossy chip (teensy weensy as it it) on my Munsell poster (it is more like 7.5RP 5/12).  It could be matte vs. glossy or the ink they are printed with.  Would someone else please compare these and see what you think?  If they do differ, which should be our target?  My silk is glossy so I'm thinking I should use the glossy poster as my target.

I would tend to agree with your assumption that the silk is glossy like the poster - if it was me, i'd go with the poster -

Good - 'cause that means I hit the target on the first trial.  Maybe that is to make up for the marathon to get the 5YR 7/12 correct :-)

Even though we have different substrates it is very helpful for me to look at what you are trying to reach the targets.
