I'm posting my trial results for the final color on my color wheel:  5BG 6/8.  I just cannot get the depth of shade or chroma.  If there is something I should try, please suggest it.

I agree, something funny going on, if I'm reading the results right.

First I see that DOS 2.5%, Turq 94%, Gold 6% gives you 2.5BG 7/6.  Then I see that pure turq at 2.0%, close to the above, gives 2.5B 6/9.   These two pieces of info don't jive.    Your DOS for the turq in the mix is  2.35 %, which should give you plenty of value and a bit of chroma  to mix away.

Mary, got it on cotton, with turq, gold and had to add a bit of navy to reduce the chroma.

Ok so the questions start.  How old are your stock solutions? Are they clear or cloudy?  Has anything changed between the time you dyed the pure sample and the mix?  Can you reproduce the these two samples?

Do you want to meet on google.docs and chat?  If so when?

I can meet on google.docs anytime tomorrow, but I don't know how to do that.

Upon reflection I realize all 3 of these stocks have been freshly mixed within the past few days.  A mystery....

Open your spreadsheet for 5BG .  When in the edit mode at the topright you should see that Karren is viewing, click on that and a chat box opens on the right side of the document.  If not feel free to call me on the phone, 937.767.8961.

I'm going to remix the stocks, just in case there is something amiss with one or more of them.  Then re-dye samples of the 2% pure turquoise and 2.5% DOS 94% turquoise and 6% golden yellow.  Then we will have something to work with.

Anne, you could look at your chips again and see what you think the Munsell Notations are again. Forget the old notations and look with a blank mind and fresh eyes. Look at the pure turq and the BG chips; natural diffuse light, chips flat on a table , look from straight above.  Not much investment of time ,compared to re-dyeing, but might uncover anything funny.
