i have renovated a hefty hardwood, perhaps mahogany, 4 shaft couterbalanced floor loom which came from Finedon Hall in Northamptonshire, England and was used during WW2 for the rehabilitation of injured Free French soldiers. I have been weaving on it for a couple of years now and have aquired 4 extra shafts which, with some sympathetic modification to the framework of the loom, I intend to add behind the existing shafts. If this is successful I would like to investigate the probability of adding a mechanical dobby system to the loom.
