I can do LOTS of different kinds of twill on my 4 shaft counterbalance, but here's one I'm feeling rather dopey I can't figure out.  It's like the Little Blocks Towels-warp #67 from repweaver done in 8 shafts, or like the Twill Blocks are a Weaver's Best Friend in Handwoven mag, Sept/Oct 2009.  Both items are woven in a 3/1 vs. 1/3 twill to pull the colors from front to back.  Can something like this be done on 4 shafts?

Thanks for your help!

P.S.  I would have loved to put in links to those items referenced above, but couldn't figure out how.  You can teach me this, too.  :-)

On my loom I was able to tie up the treadles each to one shaft and forced a 3/1 or 1/3 in one direction. I don't remember which way it was as I tried this awhile ago. But it was possible. Can't alternate them though in the same cloth. I don't know if all counterbalance looms can do this but with a firm push on three treadles, I was able to make it work.
