My week long love affair with spinning, so far, has had me teaming with questions! Thank you for all your responses.

I do not currently plan to launch into the Certificate of Achievement syllabus for spinning. But I did look at the syllabus, I noticdd it requires 100 meter skeins. I barely manage to fit 30 yards on my niddy noddy. Do I just need a bigger one to do 100 meters! Anyone ever spun 100 meters on a single bobbin? Tips for spinning this much on one bobbin?

Thank you!

Depends on the wheel and the bobbin size and the yarn size. On an Ashford Traditional I typically gat 400+ meters of linen, up to 300 of a fine wool single, and about 120 of a bulky wool single - with only about 75 of rug weight singles.

Use a Louet bobbin and you can get at least 50% more length in all categories.

A 2yd or 2m niddy can hold 500+ yards/meters easily.
