In March, while waiting for my flight to Denver at the Tampa airport, I saw a lady wearing a really interesting pair of shoes. I thought the plaid pattern would make a wonderful scarf. When I finally figured out how to get a picture of the shoes with my iPhone (without seeming like a complete stalker) I snapped a couple shots so I would remember the look. As soon as the flight took off, I was working on the design for my interpretation of the ‘Cool Shoes’. I wove one scarf in 2/2 twill and one in PW. Those cool shoes made pretty cool scarves – I think anyway!

What an entertaining story! (...follow those shoes!!) I agree that the 'cool shoes' plaid looks fantastic as a scarf.

I like the tartan, and I find it very interesting to see how different the two versions look

Nice color combination!

Thanks Beth!  Not only were they a unique shoe, they had a good 5" heel on them!  I would have broken my leg trying to wear those things.  ;)

Thank you Eva - I like to experiment with weave structure & color (I'm still a relatively new weaver - compared to some of the folks in the Pikes Peak Weaver's Guild) so my mind is always wondering off with 'what ifs' as I weave.  I like that you refered to it as a tartan - I actually have a 'Windy Meadows' tartan registered with the Tartan Registery in Scotland.  Ancient Scots would have a fit with a 'Cool Shoes' tartan - don't you think!!

Thank you Sally - appreciate your kind remark.
I just looked at your Advancing Twill scarf - that is just stunning.  At the middle, did the alternating colors reverse?

Thank you r1mein54 - I'm thinking it will give a nice color boost to a chilling Colorado winter day!

No, I just treaded as the draft said to. Would you share the draft to you scarf. My husband would love it. Sally

WindyMeadows, I really love your scarf. I enjoy the colors and the pattern. So light and cozy looking. I smile when I think of your sleuthing ways to get the photo with your I phone of the shoes. Creativity comes in many forms! Really like the scarf:)
