Wow!

Please share your sett. (I realize for double weave, it might have been twice as dense as normal, but I was wondering what the recommended sett was for this size of linen anyway.)

I am about to embark on a project with the same yarn, and was wondering how to sett this fiber. I also appreicated your comment about the lint trap, I'll have to keep an eye on that.

 Hi Sally,

the sett was 6 Ends/ cm for every colour  and layer.  I took a 30/10 reed , because I had no 60/10 reed. I had in every dent  2 green and 2 black  threads . For  both warp-layers ( upper layer and lower layer)  total 12 ends / cm.

And you have to consider to use an odd number of warp threads, so that the tubular effect can work.

That is beautiful, Kristina! I love the choice of colours, and it is a very imaginative use of both materials and technique!

Liebe Grüsse, Ellen

Notes

Another experience in doubleweave. Planned as a scarf. However, it must then be cut back. The linen revealed a nasty surprise. While wet finishing in the washing machine, it frayed so much that the lint filter clogged. I had not expected this. But  after this problems were solved the fabric is now pretty smooth and not so heavy as I had expected it to be.
