I started these towels for a friend. The colors are out of my comfort zone, but just what she likes. I find that the 8/4 makes a good heavy towel and after test use (gave a towel to each sister for evaluation), I am pleased with the result.
I was weaving great on the towels and then a section of the warp just let loose. I guess I just had a hiccup when I was winding the warp. I had to put weights on the back of the loom to finish that towel, then pull the warp all forward to even it out for the next towel.
I have not got the towels finished in good time due to the holiday and my illness. Hope to be able to get on looms again in a few days.
I finally finished the towels. I wove 3 to give away and one for the Beginning Weaving class samples. My friend liked the towels and the color.
I had not addition tension problems. I guess it was just a hiccup and the rest of the warp was fine. When I re-tensioned the warp all was well and the rest of the weaving went like a breeze.
I wove a weft sample with several colors to decide which colors I wanted to weave for the towels. I also wove a point twill section at the end of the warp (there wasn't enough for a full towel, so I just played).
