I've done a similar piece myself, and know the difficulties that weaving with wire entails.  Trying to keep an even tension without the wire snapping on you is a trying process.  Doubly so since you were using two silver wires in the brocade.  If you have some extra silver, you might want to try a short segment of through brocade, where you drop the silver to the back rather the middle of the shed - it gives you a completely different texture and is an interesting experience.  Very nice job.

Beautiful! I haven't gotten brave enough to try brocading yet.

Notes

This project is my first attempt at silver wire brocaded tablet weaving.  The pattern was drafted from the Birka finds (#22).  The black silk is from my stash.   The tablets are alternately s-and-z threaded and are turned continuously in one direction until twist builds up and then reversed.

The wire used is 2 strands of 34 guage fine sterling silver wire.
