These turned out beautifully; I would have thought it would be more brown-always wonderful surprises when weaving!

Thanks! This is a great project for a new weaver. The materials are inexpensive and readily available. It is very forgiving and produces something you can use every day. And, it is always an adventure to see how color combinations work out. I hope you try them sometime.

Notes

These are the Stash Reduction Placemats from Handwoven September/October 2009. They are fast and easy and remind me of projects I did when I first started weaving. That was around the time of Woodstock so I have christened them the Woodstock placemats. They also were great in helping me use up some mill ends I have had around for a very long time. The added bonus is that I like them. I ended up getting seven of them from my 5-yard warp. The sett is 12 working ends. One end of red and one end of brown are wound and threaded together. The finished length and width is after they have been washed. Each mat is about 20 inches with a 1.5 inch fringe on each end.
