Historical Study of Tapestry Detail

This is a detail from the 16th century tapestry "The Otter and The Swan" which is part of Devonshire Hunt series.  This is a small detail from the upper left of the tapestry, and I wove it on a smaller scale at a much coarser sett.  It was an interesting challenge to figure out how to simplify it since my sett and my size restrictions would not allow for the same level of detail.
