i just bought a 24', 8 shaft Baby Mac that came without the treadle hooks.  Macomber sells both the old style hooks that hook in the lamm, and newer super hooks that hook that top of the lamm. Which would worrk better for my loom?

If you have the old style of lamms with holes in them use the old style hooks. Be certain to tell them it is a baby mac. as they make three different size hooks. One problem with the hooks is you can not close up the loom to move it with the hooks in place. (poor design)For this reason some weavers have converted to Texsol cords.

I have read some problems with conversion to Texsolv; that the cords do not give the correct angle to the lamm and pull it out of alignment.  I'm glad you told me that; I had planned to keep it in a place that I would pull it out and unfold it to work, then fold it up and put it away.  Need a new plan.

There are pros and cons about its use on the baby. You can do a search here and on my Mac group on Ravelry.com
