LOUET HOLLANDIA 8 HARNESS LOOM FOR SALE  - $900.

 LOCATED LAKE TAHOE, CA

I am selling my Louet Hollandia 8 harness, 10 treadle parallel countermarche loom.  It has served me well for the past 10 years, but I just do not have room for 2 full size floor looms in my small house.  I purchased it in 2005 after a long hiatus from weaving and I love the loom but sometimes you just have to let something go!

Louet builds a lovely loom.  This is a low castle loom of sturdy build that is a joy to weave.  Large sheds and a self tensioning device that keeps your warp even throoughout your project.  Texsolve heddles make the weaving quieter than metal heddles, and removable breast beam makes it eay to warp without having to move the loom from the wall.

The loom is 49" tall, 61" wide and 39" deep when extended, but can be folded to 32" depth when needed.  It has a 52" weaving width and enough texsolve heddles to weave a quite wide double weave project.

description:

.  8 harness, 10 treadles

.  low castle parallel marche

.  10 dent stainless steel reed

.  original owners manual

.  adjustable weaving bench, including 2 canvas side pockets that I store "stuff" in

.  raddle

.  lots of spare texsolve heddles

.  lots of spare texsolve tieups

.  2 lease sitcks

.  warp sticks and/or heavy kraft paper

.  shelf for small items attached with flourescent light

.  newly oiled finish on wood

What more can I say?  This loom has been used, it does have some light scratches and small mars.  I note that 2 or 3 of the treadle holders (plastic) have cracked over the years, although I have never found this to be much of a problem.  I did contact Louet a couple of years ago and was told that they could be special ordered.  There is also a small crack on the top of each side (see photo) but these cracks has been there since I purchased the loom 10 years ago.

My price is $900 including delivery within 200 or so miles of Lake Tahoe, CA.  Any further and we will have to talk about it, but I really would prefer not shipping.  I will be travelling to palm springs/ LA area about mid December and could consider delivery there. Removing the breast beam and beater bar allows you to transport the loom easily in a small pickup with topper (which I have) and get it through doorways.  I purchased the loom disassembled from the family of the original owner and I would not wish to subject anyone else to the project of reassembling the loom!  I did get the loom for a very good price so I am passing it on at a price significantly below other similar Louets.  The loom is ready to use.  A weaver will need only a few shuttles (I will include a couple of flat shuttles) and yarn and she will be ready to go.

Thanks for looking!  I tried to use pictures showing usage!

Any other questions just pm me!

Interested in your loom. I am in Indiana. Can it be shipped?

wow, I really think that shipping would be very cost prohibitive, but I can price it for you if you send me a zipcode.  I had the loom shipped to me in 3 boxes when I purchased it and it took quite some time to put it back together.

sorry for the delay in answering, I've been out of town

If your loom is still available, I am most interested. I live in Sacramento and can pick up.

Hi,

I have not seen anywhere in this thread that you sold the loom.  If it is still available, I will purchase.  I can also come to pick up if necessary.  Please send me a PM and let me know.

Thanks!

Nanette

Hi,

I have bought a few heavy pieces that needed to be shipped.  I used Uship - you give them the dimensions and the two locations.  You get many quotes and can look at reviews of the shippers to make sure they have a good record.  They come and pick up and pack whatever it is you are shipping.  I did have a loom shipped this way.  They didn't take it apart - they wrapped it and loaded it and hand delivered it to my house.  It was a great experience!

Just putting that out for people who see something they want but have no idea how to ship it.
