I am a new weaver and received a LeClerc Medico as a gift.  The reed and shafts have some rust on them.  I was able to remove the reed from the machine to clean it, but I do not know how to remove the shafts from the loom.  Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I am looking for advice on how to remove the rust from the heddles and/or how to remove the shafts from the loom since it is a table loom.

To remove the shafts from the loom, remove the top board on the castle (I think it just lifts off, was missing on my Medico) and unscrew the front board.

Some pins, pullies, levers, etc will fall loose, so be sure to take pictures, make drawings, take notes, etc so you can reassemble.

I don' t THINK there is an easier way to remove the shafts.  Hmm, something is tickling my memory.  You MAY be able to remove enough of the pins holding the mechanism in place if you don't have the floor stands to avoid removing that front board, but I don't have the loom any longer to check...  Specifically look at the shaft the levers pivot on, I seem to remember one end in a slot instead of a hole.
