Hi All, I've posted  some pictures of my dads loom over at http://imgur.com/gallery/l1ioY.   I'm trying to find out any information I can that may help is in better identifying this loom.  I see a companies logo on one of the headers (which I would need to go get a better picture of), but I'm more curious as to what is used to describe the loom. 8 hangar? 4 hangar? etc.  I have absolutely no idea where to even begin.

EDIT: It acutally looks like it may be a "schacht spindle" loom?

Thank you for you help.

The company is still around, located in Colorado.

Yes. 8 shaft 12 treadle Schacht loom. Looks like it has lamp holders as well as the bench.

"Shafts" are the frames that hang down. (I think that might have been the term you were searching for with "hangers"?)

"Heddles" are all the little metal pieces suspended on the shafts. You thread the warp through them.

"Treadles" are the pedals at the bottom. When pressed, they lift the shafts.

Thanks for the help everybody.  And yes, we are selling the loom and a plethora of accessories with it.

Yes clearly a schacht "standard" model floor loom.  This kind of loom is known as a "jack loom" because the treadles use jacks to lift the shafts.  Yours is the "low castle", model which is not a little shorter in the center than the "high castle" model.  Look it up at schachtspindle.com.

I bought a Schact Standard floor loom and went on a website that included serial numbers (which was on the metal plate on the side of the castle) and that told me exactly what year it was manufactured.
