I haven't used my rigid heddle much and would like to make myself a simple, soft scarf. Suggestions for warp yarn? Weft? Thanks much!

If you would like soft, try some bamboo by silk city. Made two scarfs using bambu 12 and they are both very soft.

I've had good luck using sock yarn with at least 50% superwash Merino.

My first scarf was merino warf with alpaca weft, and it is very soft!

Love sock yarn on 12.5 heddle on my SampleIt loom. I left some slots/holes open and it made it even airier.  It washed up great and is such a nice weight.  This is for an indoor scarf--not a winter scarf, but I love it.  I had Paton's Stretch Sock yarn-239 yds/50gm (not Kroy) that I used up.  It is variegated and was fast to loom-- 6" x 70" took about 60 gms yarn. I can easily finish this in a day. I am not sure if the yarn is still available, but I see it on Ebay and Amazon.
