I have completed a set of cotton towels that has a floral pattern in the border made by a supplementary weft. I have washed and dryed the towels and see a deviation in the pattern. This isn't a threadling or threading error. It looks like the pattern weft is not always floating on top of the tabby. I wove the tabby with a 20/2 and the pattern with 8/2. Each of my borders are a little different. Has anyone experienced this before? Is there anything I can do about it? I was wondering if a another wash/dry cycle after I hem them will tighten the threads a bit so the pattern weft will lay better....
