I just bought a 48" B5 loom and have been restoring it. On my other loom the heddle eye and breast beams lined up but this one has the eye about an inch and half lower is that right?

On jack looms the heddle eyes are lower than the straight line from back beam to breast beam.

Check your chain on most Macomber the chain has 11 links and the drop is about 3/4 of an inch.

Micheal This loom has ten links and 9 links gives me the 3/4 inch. I also had to adjuct cam on the beater to get everything square. On another subject. I was reading past posts about age of looms and size. This is a B5 48 inch SS# 155. How old do you think it is? Don

It sounds like either the chains have been replaced or the chain type on a loom that old was not the same as on more recent Macombers.

The chains are copper color and look like the kind they used in old window sashes. The S hooks look old and heavy duty. Don
