On September 16 from noon-1 p.m., Library Technology Center, the University of North Georgia, Dahlonega, Georgia, USA, Barbara Miller and Deb Schillo will be making a presentation about the heritage weaving drafts from the archives of the Southern Highland Craft Guild.  Barbara has worked for many years with those drafts.  Her work has been published this year in The Frances L. Goodrich's Brown Book of Weaving Drafts.

Later in the afternoon, Barbara will work with University of North Georgia weaving students to help them interpret old weaving drafts found in our local library archive.  An exhibit of their work is planned for early fall at Hansford Hall in the gallery of the Visual Art Department at the university.

this spring. Excellent program, and if they bring some of the original inked drafts from the archives, it is a treat to see.

If anyone's near Dahlonega, Georgia, USA, come on over and hear Barbara and Deb speak... then visit the weaving classroom later to see Barbara teach the university students to use the patterns.  I think there'd be space for you to be a fly on the wall of the weaving room!
