I've been reading a lot in anticipation of using a warping trapeze on my own for the first time. I've come across people who use water jugs, horseshoes, rocks, walking weights, and pea gravel in jugs to weight their warps. We are a creative lot, using whatever is at hand and I'm curious. What do you use/have you seen used to weight the warp on a trapeze that might surprise the rest of us?

I use barbell weights - 2.5 and 5 lb. Not very innovative or surprising, I'm afraid, but it works!

I use my husband's old dive weights, at 2 or 3 pounds each, I can change up the weight as needed. They have strap holes which work great for suspending them. Plan B if I ever need more weight is landscape pebbles in a vinegar jar with handle. Can vary the amount of pebbles as needed. Note both are "dry" methods. I know some folks use water in jugs but I am a klutz and would spil the water.

I use empty gallon vinegar jugs and secure the warp by pulling a loop through the handle.  I can add as much water as I need.

I do use water but anything will do from sand to pebbles, from dive weights to bricks.  What is used is less important than that weight is used, imho.  But each to their own.  Some people never use tension during beaming, some do the jerk and wind method, etc.  If you are happy with your results, nothing needs to be changed.

cheers,
