Hello,

It has been about a year since I posted. I told myself I was not going to post until I had made some videos.  I shot short video clips when I was in Scotland this past May and have now edited them into 1:30 to 3:30 minute videos. My great uncle was a tartan weaver in scotland, and he restored some old early industrial-era loom.  I am trying to find more information about him, and then will watch all your videos.  My curiosity grows by the day, and I can just feel a future trip to Scotland is in my future.

Such a pleasure to see all these videos and photos. I'm ashamed to say, you've probably seen more of my country than I have!

Amazing!  My friend and I spent some time in Scotland last summer, and made sure to visit Paisley and Kilbarchan, not to mention Orkney.  Thank you for sharing the other places I'll need to visit next time I go.

Thanks to those of you who posted comments on my videos. Scotland is a terrific country not just because of the beauty all around but because of the welcoming and friendly people. I don't recommend visiting in the summer (too many tourists!) but if you do go this summer, it is worth going to see The Great Tapestry of Scotland.  We got a sneak preview as they were hanging it in Paisley when we visited the end of April. That exhibit just closed June 8. However, it will be back hanging in the Scottish Parliament building in Edinburgh again.

It is not a woven tapestry. But instead a  160 embroidered panels designed by Andrew Crummy and stitched by people from all over Scotland. It tells the important events in Scottish history.
