Hi I'm going to the Galapagos and have a day on either side in Quito.

Can anybody recommend mueums, shops, market, weavers (if possble) in Quito or nearby?

Otavalo is less than a day's drive north of Quito.  It has a big market, with "tourist fodder" weaving.  Some of my friends went there recently and say that it hasn't changed since I was there, which was a while ago.  They have other nice crafts, though.  Otavalo is surrounded by live volcanos.

Quito itself is a very nice city.  I especially liked the gold museum.  There is also an interesting cloud forest in the vicinity.
