I have a Mighty Wolf loom, and have been looking at the Harrisville Designs tensioning device that you sell at The Woolery (http://www.woolery.com/store/pc/Tensioning-Device-For-Warping-22-50-p6549.htm).  I'm wondering if you can post a few close-up photos of how the device is mounted/used on a Schacht Mighty Wolf loom.  Thanks in advance!

Your website describes it as follows, and does mention there are two models designed for the Schact Wolf looms:

Especially useful for weavers who warp alone.  It allows for the option of putting on more or less drag depending on the type of warp and the requirements.  If you want perfect warp tension every time, this is the tool for you. "The greatest invention since the mute button." The tensioning device consists of: 4 wooden bars, 2 wooden holders, 2 clamps, & instructions on how to use it.

The tensioning device is helpful in maintaining an even tension especially when you are warping by yourself.  It can be mounted on the front beam when warping back-to-front, though you'll need to get your beater out of the way (the raddle will then be on the back beam); many weavers find a little extra tension especially helpful in that situation.  It can also be mounted on the back beam when warping front-to-back.

The actual width is approx. 4.5" more than the weaving width.  The "-SCH" models are specifically made for Schacht looms or other looms with a slanted back beam.

We don't have one set up at this time but it is very simple. They make it with curved u-shaped brackets (like the Wolf Trap).  It just sits right on the top of back beam.

Do they work as well as weights do?  I typically use 4 - 6 gallon water jugs distributed across the width of a Baby Wolf, where I don't use sectional warping.  They slide on my hardwood floors.  Does this device as uniform tension as weights like that?

It does indeed provide as even a tensioning as using the weights, with the added benefit that it will work on a carpeted surface, where the jugs of water will not work so well.  IMHO, the evenness of the tension is far more important than the amount of tension; one can always adjust amount of tension after everything is wound on evenly.

Hope that helps!
