All right we are almost 2 weeks in how is everyone doing? I have warped 2 looms. Woven 3 shawls. I should finish the last shawl of the trio (I warp up for three pieces at a time) tomorrow. And hope to finish the 3 shawls and wash them tomorrow . The rug loom is also ready for a piece I just need to decide what to put on it. A local dairy is having a open house, fall festival thing next Saturday . I have been invited and will be interested to see how well attended is is. What are other folk doing ?

Well, I finished my Double Dare piece and just have to sew it up now. I have warped and woven a bit on my stripe piece which is part of two Halloweave groups- the stripes one and the seamstress one.

As I am traveling this week and will be away for some time, I am taking this as my on-the-road project. However, I have to say that I don't really like it and will use it to demo the backstrap loom while away and then will warp up something else for the stripe project when I get back....long after the end of Halloweave.

After a false start earlier this week on my double dare project I got the loom warped this morning and am well into the weaving. In the meantime I did a quick warp on Wednesday evenong for a Brook's bouquet scarf which I finished Thursday evening. So for the most part I am doing something weaving related everyday.

I am plugging away on a towel warp- I have woven some each day, -have 5 of the 8 woven, and will work on them tomorrow between one of my students and a friend coming by.  Hope to finish by Tuesday.

I made some good progress today on the little girl's apron. Got up the nerve to cut the cloth, and I got most of the sewing finished. Just need to add buttons and make buttonholes. Yesterday I finished weaving the fabric for two bags, so I'll have some more sewing to do this week.

Karen, I'm looking forward to seeing the apron!  Please post new photos with your project.

Well this weekend I was able to get my front yard all cleaned up and the house too. Plus on the fun side I warped my loom for huck towels. Today I had  a few minutes to weave. So I now have about half of the first one done.

I've gotten a little bit done each day on a very simple inkle weave piece, but we've had so much running around to do the last week, I haven't had a lot of time.  Also, I'm in my first semester of college online, and that takes up even more time.

I'm hoping to get the inkle piece done, and warp up for a double weave piece this week.

I got the two remaining bright-colored panels and the first dark panel woven and dyed over the weekend - still need to rinse them out!  I can't WAIT to see them finished and will sneak home at lunchtime to rinse and dry them.  I've also been working on the sewing pattern - drafting and redrafting in Adobe Illustrator.  Getting used to computer aided patternmaking - it's addictively simple once you get the hang of it!

Pictures once I get the panels rinsed out and dried...

I have woven about 8-10" on the first towel and hope to do more tomorrow. I posted pics under my projects.

I keep plugging away at my weaving when I want a break from sewing.  I have 8 more Teddy bears cut and ready to sew, and will do a bit of that tonight.

I've been constructing the first of two handbags. Not being able to find decent handles for the bags I decided to make the handles on my inkle loom. So now I'm going to finish the inkle bands before continuing the bag construction. I'll try to post pics later today. I haven't had an inkle project for quite a while, and I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Since I finished the natural dye blueberry and briar root scarf project I started warping another scarf in between interruptions from my realtor and title company where the lender keep changing or adding conditons to the buyer and closing dates keep getting extended. The stash I am using up is more "gifted" wool that is a mix of grey, light brown, small bits of black and neutral - like a tweed color and is heavy. 4 skeins and 3 balls weighed 1 pound 7.5 ounces. Starting photos and draft will be posted.

are finished and waiting to be sent to my sister - she can chose which she wants to give to her friend. The next couple of nights I need o work on the finishing touches to my double dare / spook of the loom project, so probably won't be weaving again until class on Saturday where we will explore using chenille on the rigid heddle.
