Okay, I am smitten by this project post!

Where did you get the paper yarn?

Sally, Thanks for being smitten.

Unfortunately, I don't know any US yarn supplier that sells paperilanka.  The first yarn I used I brought home in my suitcase from Finland.

When I tried to get it from the Scandinavian yarn suppliers here, no one had it, and they didn't think they would be able to sell it.  No one would know what to do with it, one told me. I had to order a quantitiy directly  from a Finnish manufacturer.

It's a lot like the craft paper twine you can find in stores in the US, but it's much stronger.  I'd be happy to wind off some of mine to send you, if you'd really like to get your hands on some.  Just let me know.

Very interesting! The "flowers" look so effective as well. Another new idea for my "to do" list. It is so inspiring seeing what others are doing. Thank you!

Hi Avalanche,

I am so impressed by the flowers on your transparency weave. The transparency technique I know, but putting linen and paper yarn together like this was really pretty. When I read about the rya knots and paper  I thought, just so =D. Really sping and appleblossom at home now then.

I've made some thoughts about water on paper yarn. Iv'e just made some placemats at my local guild. But think I cant wash them exactly.

A very special and beautiful piece of work. My compliments. Here in the Netherlands we can get paper yarn in various thicknesses and many colours. The internetsite is: http://www.papiergaren.nl/  Maybe it can be shipped to the USA. Good luck! Kind regards Els

So elegant and effective.  It would be beautiful used in some way at graduations, showers, or weddings.
