what a GREAT idea for using carpet warp and rags. I LOVE it. (The previous generation of weavers would love the thrift of this project.!) And the braided edge is a perfect finish. Thanks so much for posting.

Lovely colors, lovely cloth, Deanna. Asymmetry is difficult to achieve on demand. Sometimes the accidental is more interesting than the intentional. Good job!

Notes

I am weaving a turned overshot fabric.  This fabric is to make a pincushion to match the overshot trim I wove and applied to one of my bobbin lace pillows.  I will construct a traditional "strawberry" pin cushion.

I carefully planned a plaid/stripe sequence of flaxon, lavender and purple for the tabby ground, but made a mistake in the numbers.  As you can see on the pictures, on the right side the pattern almost matches up, but by time we get to the left side it is all off.  The color sequence does not match up with the motif.  I sat a looked at the problem for a couple of days and decided to just weave it...after all I am just going to cut up the fabric and stick pins in it.  I will try to put the best looking pattern on the "top" of the pincushion...!
