This was my first weaving project and my first on my new loom. The warp was 2 colors of cotton and the weft was 3 colors of the same cotton. I used 3 different cotton yarns - 5/2 and 3/2. I didn't think to get the names of them. I used 100 warp yarns 3 yards long.
I used several samples from the wonderful book, Handweaver's Pattern Directory by Anne Dixon. I went through so many samples trying out different things which was a delight. I wish I had written down the change of each pattern because with my yarn and colors it is hard to match up the patterns I used. Big mistake there - from now on I will keep careful records so that I can duplicate something I really like. I was very pleased with the way it turned out. I was a little worried at first that the pattern was a little on the lacy side because of the 10 sett reed and 10 epi cotton but after washing it shrunk up nicely and looks great. It's nice to have a first project I can really use.
