Notes

This scarf was my first weaving project. My teacher (who is also my Mum) thought that I should start with something beautiful and that describes this scarf.

The pattern is Undulating Twill #204 from A Weaver’s Book of 8-Shaft Patterns from the Friends of Handwoven. The draft was turned so the warp would have the long float and that the gorgeous bronze colour would show through.  We tried several wefts since the bronze ribbon was quite slippery. A weft that has a good grip was needed and the chenille fit the bill.

I finished the scarf with two divided rows of knotting with a black glass bead above each knot. This scarf has a beautiful drape and is not too heavy. When wearing it the beads chime and dance making it fun to wear. This definitely made me love weaving!
