Lovely effect there Alison,  I take it you used Zephyr for both warp & weft?  That's a knitting yarn isn't it?  I'll have to go look that up.  Liese

How much weft was required for this project. I am planning on making a scarf and I don't know how much weft yarn to order. Thank you.

Thanks Liese.  Sorry it took me so long to get back to you!

Yes, I used Zephyr for both the warp and weft.  Zephyr can be used for both weaving and knitting.  I first learned about it through weaving and thought that was it's predominant use.  With the increased popularity of lace knitting, I think it has come into its own there too.

This was woven on a rigid heddle loom using two heddles to get 24 epi.  I hand painted the warp several years ago in a class taught by Sarah Lamb.  I'm very happy with how it came out, but if I'd had more warp, I would have experimented with weft colors.  One of the great things about doing this on the Flip, was that I lost very little to loom waste - a good thing as I had only the 2 yards in length.  I had two one ounce skeins that I interleaved to give an ikat fe
