Hey Ruth, Based on the dates you entered, this looks like and oldie but goodie. I love the plaid and alpaca, too.

Beautiful scarf.   Would you please share how the scarf has worn over time and how you wash and care for it?  I love alpaca but have had some problems with wet finishing and durability.  Thanks for sharing.

I've got to confess, once upon a 15-or-so years ago a dear friend threw it into the wash, knotted as around the neck and all, right on a hooded jacket I'd worn it with -- the light and fawn felted up within the knot, and the dark brown not so much; so there's this interesting patch at the back of the neck.    Beyond that egregious handling it holds up very well, these nearly 40-odd years of use and wear. I prefer to handwash and hang it dry.

Hey, Claudia, it is indeed the first piece I ever did!

Notes
A plaid scarf set up (CCCCTTTTCCCCBBBB)6 CCCCTTTTCCCC where B, T, and C are the natural colors of the alpaca fiber Brown, Tan, and Cream; woven in the same plaid, carrying the colors up one side. I still wear it when visiting cold weather, and as a class sample.
