I used 22 cards for this strap.  The first part "hi my name is roland" is from a font in Peter Collingwood's Tablet weaving book.  Then I had to return it to the guild library and I didn't copy the font out, so I finished the rest with the Gill Sans font from Linda Hendrickson's "Please Weave a Message".

This was my first actual project (and not experimental learning experience) using double faced tablet weaving.  Wow is it hard to unweave if you lose your place!  I did manage to fix all my errors though, and it came out to quite a cute strap.  I've added a loop at one end (for holding) and some twisted and knotted fringe at the other end (for cats to grab) and it has become a nice dangly cat toy for a friend's cat who is named Roland, and who is orange and stripey.  Spellcheck says stripey isn't a word, but I'm going to have to say in this case it is.

I like stripey, and I love the strap.  I have cards and book in the studio I have never worked with.  This does it, seeing your project has inspired me to take it with me on vacation at the end of May.

Thanks for the inspiration.  It'll be a while before I have anything to post.  I'll just enjoy looking at yours.

Of course stripey is a word! Spellcheck does not own a cat!

Lucky Roland! The lettering is great and worth all the hard work!

I am a fan of tablet weaving and the last warp I set up was to do lettering...then I got an Inklette.

I haven't returned to the tablet warp yet, but like Claudia, I have travel on the horizon.

Very FUN project, and I am sure Roland will elicit a big smile from everyone when wearing this fashionable collar!
