I took a class at the Mannings three years ago and we learned how to warp the loom f2b and include the supplementary warp with the ground warp in the process. The draft we used is a Monk's belt turned 90 degrees so the treadling is Monk's belt and the threading is plain weave with the ground warp on shafts 1 and 2 and the supplementary warp on 3/4. I had to put the ground warp on shafts 1-4 and the supplementary warp on 5 and 6 for this project because I had too many threads (470) to use my 4 shaft loom.
This is the 5th shawl I have made using this draft and this process and every one of them has been fun and has turned out really nicely. I am looking forward to finding different yarns to use for the next one.
