This scarf was woven undyed, incorporating shibori threads (fishing line) in a monk's belt pattern. Using Procion MX dyes, the colours were handpainted onto the gathered up fabric to attain the final dyed patterning.

I've just got the book of shibori weaving so was excited to see somebody's efforts with it. Was it hard weaving with the fishing line? The book implies there can be problems with it working its way out of the weaving.
