There is this great rep weave rug that I want to make. It calls for 8/4 cotton yarn, however, I was hoping to use mercerized pearle cotton by UKI. UKI pearle cotton comes in 3/2, 5/2, 10/2 and I think 20/2. 8/4 cottong is 1,680 yards per pound and UKI pearle cotton 3/2 is 1,260 per pound and 5/2 is 2,100 per pound. For a rug, would I go with the 3/2 or the 5/2 and make adjustments accordingly based on the epi and sett?
I am hoping someone with rep weave rug experience can help me with this dilemma.
