I have a question regarding using a temple. The problem I am having is that the teeth of the temple are digging into the beater on my Glimakra loom.  How can I prevent this?. What would be the best way to protect the beater from the teeth? I am using a metal temple. Thanks for any ideas!

Can you add a picture?  I can't imagine how you are doing that.

Been there done that!  Advance the warp frequently and keep the temple a a little further down into the cloth away from the fell line, also you can adjust the height of the beater.  By making these small adjustments you will learn the sweet spot where the fell line and then warp falls at a slight angle and the teeth will not abrade.  Hope this makes sense!

Thank you Dawn. I'll try those suggestions.

Usually happens if the fell is getting too close to the breast beam after being advanced or the beater is not forward enough in the craddle causing the beater to swing a bit past vertical so the race is rising and hitting the teeth. Done this many times. :\

since your loom has a shuttle race, you are having problems.  If your beater can be removed and reversed so the shuttle race in on the heddle side, you may eliminate the problem altogether.
