Yes, they are nice colors for your blankets. I looked at your draft, looks great. Just my novice opinion. :)

Try your macro setting on your camera. If your closer than 4 feet or so, your standing closer than the focal length of the lens. Other than this, it could be too much compression. But a lot of folks usually don't use the macro or get too close. ;)

Thanks ReedGuy.  I took the picture with my phone, which I just got this summer.  I used the macro setting on my old phone, but haven't found it yet on the new one.  Or I should dig out the camera and just use it.  I do much better with it.

Tina, The colors are beautiful and I'm off to see your draft! Thanks for posting. BTW, how did you finish the blankets? I'll be doing some in a couple of weeks and am thinking of satin binding.

Thanks Cathie.  I've had bad luck trying to sew satin binding on blankets before.  I've also had trouble just hemming them on the sewing machine and usually handstitch the hem.  But baby blankets get more wear and tear (and lots of washings!), so I bit the bullet and spent the dollars and bought a walking foot for my sewing machine.  It worked great, without having the fold advancing more than the the bottom as usually happened.  I do want to try satin binding again and will practice with some leftovers I have somewhere.  I'm hoping the walking foot will help but will also try dissolvable tape I was told about, that will hopefully keep the binding from moving and help the stitches catch on both sides.

This is a great blanket! Thank you for sharing Tina!

Tina, a Walking Foot is such a great idea! I was worrying about the satin binding , so the hemming may be the way to go. Thanks for the tips!

Notes

I wove 2 blankets on this warp.  The weft colors match the warp.  The green stripes are in basket weave and the other colors are all in alternating 1/3 and 3/1 twill.

I'm sorry for the lousy picture.  I tried several takes but they all look out of focus.  I don't know if that's due to the photographer (me) or the twill.

**UPDATE: I took new pictures with the camera (first ones were with my phone).  I think they give you a better idea of what the blanket looks like.
