These DID come out great, especially for a first project! Also, your project specs are right on the money with sett for fiber size, so I have no doubt that when finished, they would be perfect! (I love the detail photo.)

I am also in respect of your first warp length. Not many first-time weavers would trust themselves to put on 7 yard warp out of the starting box. Wow.

Gee, what's next?

Fantastic job! First project with 8 shafts and 10 treadles? Amazing!

Notes

My first project ever.  I learned how to twine colors (thus the loops you see on some.  So happy they came out so well in the wash.  I was happily shocked.  It is also surprsing how much the pattern bloomed.  I read here not to beat so hard ( my beater is super heavy so I just let it fall really).  After washing, my first towel, I had some squashed squares.  Once I relaxed and "believed" they would finish well in the wash, I moved along more quickly.  It was hard to envision those fat loose squares would ever look like they were suppose to, but I am happy with my first try.
