Notes
This piece is all rayon chenille, warp and weft, except for four warps of Shetland wool placed in the middle of the warp to shrink slightly and create a bit of a ruffle on either side. Chenille needs to woven closely and firmly to keep the threads from worming. After woven, ends were sewn on sewing machine and hemmed. I washed in machine on delicate and then into the dryer. Rayon chenille loves the dryer, it becomes very soft with a great drape. The piece was folded in half and sewn 9″ from the top down on one side to create a hood, the point on the hood was also sewn down. Heavy and warm, it can be worn as a hooded scarf or as a draped shawl as seen in the pictures and easily transitions between the two.
