My First Weaving

...on my birthday, 2007, I took the day off work expressly to set up, warp and generally play with my first-ever loom, an Ashford rigid heddle, 60cm wide (inc. stand).  The warp was about 2 ends of Coast (a flag yarn) followed by eight of the Velvet (a chenille-y type thing).  In the first, longer section, the weft is all Velvet; I attempted a very brief interlude with some eyelash-y stuff, then tried the Coast as weft.  I like this section a lot, and keep meaning to attach some shells to it and call it a wall hanging.  It's still somewhere in my studio, and I am unreasonably fond of it.
