Hi all,

I just started working on the COE last month, so all your posts have been very helpful.

I have a question I can't find an answer to anywhere.

How would one suggest mounting the sample to the folder in one corner only?

The only thing I can come up with is to staple, but that seems so harsh!

What is everyone else doing?

I would suggest sewing it, or using brads, which is what I have done for my Certificate of Achievement. I used a hole punch to create a hole in the  mounting page and then used these brads to secure the sample to the mounting page.

The CoA is not as prescriptive in how you present the portfolio samples.

You are very welcome. I know it is very important to read the CoE Handbook thoroughly, so do double check the handbook in case things are specified there, as I haven't read it through recently.

I'm so glad to hear you find the group useful! I look forward to following your progress.

Good luck,

Erica

You can check with others who have obtained their COE most recently, check with the COE coordinator, or call the HGA office to inquire if you don't see what you seek described in the manual. (I would always opt for the best, archival quality possible.)

Lots of folks who go on to earn their level II's become instructors and write books, so their samples are invaluable resources for future work. Last year I saw Susan Wilson's COE Crackle samples, which she brings when she lectures for a workshop. I was blown away! (Her COE samples are many of the examples included in her Crackle book.)

Keep plugging away!
