Hi Michael and group,

I recently purchased a 40" 8 harness Mac at a studio sale.  It was used lovingly for years by its owner, who passed away.  The loom has been sitting for many years in storage.

I was able to clean the harnesses of all the rust by light sanding.  Questions here:

1. I need some advice as to how to clean the lams.  I have been oiling them and working them and they seem to be

usable but they are rusty.  Can you guys give me any advice as to how best to clean them?  Is it advisable to take the lams apart at the bottom?

2.Also it seems the wires that run from the upper levers to the lower lams are bending.  One of them, harness 8, keeps popping out of the upper hole.

3.  Then my next question is I don't know if parts are missing.  I don't see anything to attach the harnesses to the lams at the bottom.  There's an metal arm that seems to lay

across the lams, not sure what that's for.

Any help to get me going is appreciated!
