Well, just to acquaint myself with shadow weaving, I bought a Webs 5/2 pattern that made two little receiving blankets.  I learned a lot about using alternate shuttles and found a way to

manage the draft that worked for my brain!  Then, when I took it off the loom, I noticed two different rows with "floats" and fixed them successfully by needle weaving and removing the

weft yarn.  AFTER I washed them, I noticed that there is an error in the warp.....  the color pattern is alternating white and lavender, but right in the middle of each blanket, I managed

to thread lavender twice followed by white twice!  So my very nice little blankets have a "stand out" dark/light stripe!  Now that theyre washed isnt a good time to repair, but I still want

to.  If I swap one lavender for one white, I can correct the problem, right?  I have the patience and time to needle fix this.  In your experience, is it worth the effort?  Will a repair done

after washing always show?  Any comments are appreciated, as always!  Sue

You can probably get away with repairing it and weting the blanket again.  But won't you need to repair two threads one white and one lavender?

Good luck.  They sound beautiful.

Two threads have to be needle woven over, but then I'll have two giftable blankets.  I guess I'll go ahead and do it since I've got nothing to lose!  Thanks for your reply, Stephanie.

Sue in Vt., good luck with the repair, I think it will turn out just fine as Guiding Myth has indicated. If you really want to get into Color and weave make yourself gamp.just take two contrasting values like you did with the lavender and white ( or light

Sorry computer froze , value and dark value of same family hue) and make smallish and different color stripes in your warp. Then play as you weave in the same colors. This becomes a useful tool in further work plus it's very much fun:)

Have Fun,
