Thanks to everyone for all your help with my multitude of questions about my new Varpa loom. I had to decide whether I was going to keep this new-to-me loom or my old Mac; both couldn't stay. For a variety of reasons (you can get details on my blog (secondwindjewelry.com/jewelry-weaving-blog if you're interested) I sold the Varpa. The new owner came to pick it up today. And thanks to Dawn's blog, he knew how to take the castle off the side pieces so he fit the entire loom in his Jetta with room to spare. (If I'd known that I could have done it all in my Yaris & not rented a bit honking van when I drove 5 hours in 1 direction to buy it!)
So I am closing my membership in this group, not because I don't love you all, but because I no longer own a Varpa.
