You'll probably find a sett of 12 will square it up. I used 12 once on two-ply (860 yards/lb) wool and the goose eye was elongated. Went to 8, and it's square.

Wish I could touch it.  I love my boat shuttles.

Good for you. There is something about the feeling you get when you have accomplished some new or different method.

Yay, it's done! It took me forever to finish this blasted thing; I had a wretched time getting a rhythm with the two shuttles and I think I should have started the shuttles from alternate sides... too late now so maybe next time. It took me a while to loosen up the tension- wool really doesn't need as much as cotton, does it? - so where I started the houndstooth is quite rectangular, but it squared up fast enough. As it is, I'm quite pleased with the yarn- too bad I won't be able to get more of it. It's still damp from wet-finishing and it's already a very drapy, scrunchy, warm scarf. The wool is a superwash merino and it's softer and silkier after washing than I would have thought possible. This is a number of firsts for me: first two shuttle weave, first time using my boat shuttle, and first 100% wool project. The take up after wet-finishing is quite minimal.
