Gosh! Where did the pattern come from? I like how it has a small motif, surrounded by a larger one. (More evident on the second photo with the blue warp.) That's great design from just 4 shafts!

You say this pattern uses 4 shafts, but the source is a book of 8 shaft patterns.   I've done a quick page-through, but didn't find the pattern.   Could you list the page number please??    Thanks in advance.

I have found this pattern in Davidson page 41. It looks interesting.Norma

It is a 4shaft version from Margarite Davidson's Handweavers Pattern book page 41. I found with all the sampling I did with it that I really liked the way the red one came out. it was 5/2 as the weft on the 10/2 warp.

The varigated wool was interesting as I treated like an overshot pattern. The varigated did the pattern and I used 10/2 between each pattern treadle.

Hi Sally, I used Magarite Davidson's Handweaver Pattern book. Page 41

It was a lot of fun to play and sample with.

Cheers

Notes

Wanted to try gothic cross. I am trying it with a variety of yarns and even doing it as an overshot with varigated yarn. It has been educational.
