Since I have more than 4 shafts, I decided to
expand a four shaft Spot Bronson to six, giving each block its own ground shaft. The
tie-up changes, but the treadling stays the same. I did this so that I could
weave either the ground in color or the pattern in color by shifting the tie-up,
weaving with one shuttle. The other advantage is that now half the threads are
spread out over three shafts rather than all being on shaft 1.The sampler, however, shows that alternating the weft as well as the warp makes the pattern pop when the pattern warp and the tabby weft are the same color.To expand, use shaft shuffle to move the pattern shafts to shafts 4-6. Using shuffle rather than cut & paste moves the treadles with the shafts. Then copy & paste the pattern shafts to the first 3 shafts, and copy shaft 1 tie-up to 2 & 3. Then shuffle again to get an easier  draft to thread, with block 1 on 1,2,1,2 etc. I wove it 8 ways in two colors; solid A, solid B, A/B and B/A. The order of the alternating weft matters.
